Share
Looking to expand the use of your Go Sign! card deck? We've arranged several engaging activities from easiest to most challenging, so you can choose the perfect fit for your classroom or home setting:
- Letter Recognition: Spread out the cards and have students identify each letter. Incorporate the ASL signs for an added visual and kinesthetic learning experience.
- ASL Hand Gesture Flash Cards: One player shows a hand sign, and the other guesses the letter, or vice versa. This enhances both signing skills and letter identification.
- Go Fish: Play the classic game by matching letter pairs. It's a fun way to reinforce letter recognition and ASL signs while enjoying friendly competition.
- Memory Match: Place all cards face down and take turns flipping two at a time to find matching letters. This game sharpens memory and concentration.
- CVC Practice: Use the cards to form simple Consonant-Vowel-Consonant words. Students can spell out and sign each letter of the words they create, reinforcing phonics skills.
- Spelling Challenges: Challenge students to spell longer words using the cards and practice signing each letter in ASL.
- Laying Down Words: Students take turns drawing cards and laying down any real words they can spell. The player who uses the most cards to form words by the end wins. This activity promotes vocabulary building, strategic thinking, and advanced spelling skills.
